Using Seamonkey 2.33, right click on a message and you get about 10 options. One
option is "Delete Message". Select that and the message is gone.

Another way to delete a bunch of messages is to mark each one to be deleted with
the letter "K". Next time you open the NG, they will all be gone.

You can also set up a Message Filter which will kill any messages, past or new,
from anyone with a particular name or email. It looks like this:

Tuesday of each month. We all take turns standing up and we start off
by saying, "I was a top poster addicted to top posting for X years.
After being shown the RIGHT way to post I've learned to accept that
bottom posting is the new top posting. I accept the things I cannot
change and have learned the wisdom to tell the difference.

The hat was my kids idea. They thought it would help me feel more at
ease incognito. Not too many people knew who I was. Those Top posters
anonymous meetings are so relaxing.
