Default Winterizing Trailers Saturday update

One last trailer to pink, and disconnect the sewage hose. A couple of the

the hose is guaranteed to trap some.

I'm using a LOT more pink than expected. I started with 6 jugs. Went back
and got 4 more, and then 4 more last night. I may be able to recover some
pink, in the spring. I'll save a couple empty jugs just in case. And will do
what I can with that.

Blowing out the lines before the pink, probably saved me a lot of diluted
pink. Also less likely to freeze lines.

Antifreeze/water mix doesn't expand when it freezes, like water alone, so if
you don't get the freezing temperature down low enough to prevent the solution
from freezing, it'll still likely work.

Feral cats like anything. Don't feed them or you'll have more.

Default Winterizing Trailers And, it's a wrap!

That turned out to be a LOT of work. And, it's not
over. Several things need to be repaired in the spring,
when we open up. 3 of the trailers have dead marine
batteries, and at least a couple of them have dead
charger controllers.

I blew out as much water as I could, and then put pink
non toxic RV antifreeze in all the lines, traps. Drain the
grey, black, and water heater tanks.

Armor All, and inflate the tires.

Ideally, next year I'll organize the system some how,
so that I can get several things going at the same time.
Blow the lines on trailer 2, while I'm pinking the lines
for trailer 1. That kind of thing.

How'd you know? Four of the five trailers have no WH bypass. Not sure about
low drains. Hasn't found many of them.

You are very wise, Bob-san.

This is a stupid question since I'll never own one but how long on
average did it take to winterize a trailer (among the ones you did)?

Works out to 5+ hours. More, if you count the
internet research, and loading and unloading
stuff out of the van. Trips to the store to buy
more pink stuff.

Next year will be considerably less hours.
