Default mice under snow?

I noticed little foot tracks in the snow around my place then it
disappears under the snow and re-appears a few feet later. There are
2 little foot tracks with a straight line in between them. I take it
that's it's tail ??? Do mice bury under snow when they walk for a
while ?

Them are Ice Weasles. Gotta watch out for those,
'specially if you're trapped under a snowmobile.

Doan worry about Ice Weasles,,the Snowy Ice Owls snarf Em right
up..When Ya hear a barely audible "swoosh" the Owl just scored a meal
and saved a Snowmobiler all in one fell swoop..It's the tracks of
animals too big for owls and cats to handle that Ya gotta worry
about,,hanta virus and lice notwithstanding of course..
A mouse near the house?
Do'nt ruffle Yer blouse
If a rat eats Yer cat
well Ya better fix that!
Sorry I'm just entertainment and not any real help..I've got squirrels
on My roof,I just let Em run wild..As long as They're in the space
Mother Nature gave to them I wo'nt sweat it..

Oh yeah. Little brown guys no likee be on top of white surface where

Reminds me of a film clip from one of those video shows I caught while
channel surfing- patio full of relatives visiting, and little kid proudly
brings out his new pet mouse or gerbil or whatever, and places it on coffee
table. Didn't take 3 seconds for a hawk or owl or something to swoop down
and snatch it, in spite of all the humans sitting there. Kid was in shock,
adults laughed like hell.

I had a pet hamster who had the run of the house, I put food in his
cage but he could come and go as he pleased. Nice little guy once he
climbed up on couch while I was asleep, woke to find him looking at my
face.

Anyhow one day a older neighbor stopped to visit, and kinda freaked
when rusty wandered into the living room. They looked each other over,
it was funny. My neighbor said whats THAT? Oh just rusty me pet
hamster.

You have to wonder what goes on in their heads at times like that,
hamsters and neighbors.

Red Foxes & coyotes will listen for the field mice under the snow when
they locate one they leap up in the air and pierce the snow to get the
mouse.
