Default "crying" sound from the hot water tap...?

Wierd noise, sounds like a whine - coming from the hot water tap in the
shower.

Seems to whine louder and more quietly depending on where its positioned -
if I turn it right up (to the point where the pressure is like a massage!)
the whine stops.

Is it a dead washer? Or something more sinister?

It's a poor lost soul from someone that drowned in their shower.
Their spirit is still in the water and flowing thru the pipes. You
can hear them cry even louder if you fill your tub and put your head
under the water. It's always the worst in hot water because this soul
is heated and boiled in that water which is very painful for them.
Thus they cry even more.

-OR-

The washer screw is loose. Tighten it. May as well change the washer
at the same time.

Replace the washer or O ring, or whatever your particular faucet uses.
