I am a "dumb****" too. Is a dumb**** different than a dumb****er? Which is
better if you want to attain Village Idiot status? How do I click on a
link?

Let me get this straight. You want participation from this group of
strangers with lots of time on their hands but then you start calling some
of them "dumb****s". I guess that's one way of gaining their trust and
cooperation. It's just not one I've heard of. How's it working out for ya?

This is a survey soliciting opinions on video monitoring as a home security
option.

Here's my opinion:

Why would I need to view a monitor to know who's knocking on my door?
Wouldn't a 50-cent peephole accomplish the same thing. Actually, you could
save the fifty cents by just opening the door!

If it's a friend, invite them in and have a beer. If it's some goblin, just
shoot the ****er and close the door (I always have a gun at hand when
opening the door).

Normally a good idea, but tonight being Halloween, you may want to hand
the little suckers some candy instead of shooting them.

You just lost a lot of potential respondents. No need for that language.

You ask some good questions in your survey, however be aware that people
live in different areas. Some people live in small towns with low crime
rates. Some live in large cities with high crime rates. Some live in "good"
areas of large cities with low crime rates, etc.

So with the above said, keep in mind that people who live in low crime rate
areas might be the only people answer your survey or could be the majority
of those who answer. This could skew the results. Or the other way around.

FYI - I live in a low crime rate area and have no need for a security
camera. However, if I lived in a high crime rate area, I would get one with
a quickness!

Some places they don't care which you do.

I have a monitor, and make the video available to all TV's in my
house, so it's easy to see who's at the door.

If it's a friend, invite them in and have a beer. If it's some goblin, just
shoot the ****er and close the door (I always have a gun at hand when

And ignore people carrying bibles (there's some really annoying ones
around here).
