Default K-Aid laundrey washer leak

6 year old Kitchen Aid top loader washer with small leak. After propping up
on some 2x4 and running, can see that leak appears to be coming from near
right rear corner. What is the best way to proceed with a self diagnosis
and repair?

Default K-Aid laundrey washer leak

A kitchenaid top load washer is the same as a Whirlpool direct drive,
and Kenmore direct drive as well. A common place for a leak is the
pump, which is front and center when you lean the machine back and look
underneath. If you see water residue on the pump, replace it.
Otherwise, search the web for taking off the whole cabinet and look for
where the leak is actually coming from. You can look for water
residue, or you can fill the machine with water and do it full. To
drain, either put the cabinet back on and reconnect the lid switch, or
bypass the lid switch by sticking a wire into the outer holes of the
lid switch wire harness connector and putting the machine into a drain
cycle.
