Maytag Washer Leak
I returned to my summer home in Pennsylvania to a maytag washer that
leaked when you ran it. I took the front cover off and can see the leak coming from a gasket between the tub and motor. It only leaks when tub is full and turning. So I put the washer up on blocks and put a pan un der it to catch the leak. I ran it with the front cover off to watch the leak. Now - guess what - it will not leak a drop. I am thinking that putting it up on stable blocks instead of the padded carpet may have balanced it a bit. I still want to repair that gasket. Is this a hard job? Should I just call a repair man? Is this major or minor? I am currently using the washer with a pan under it - but right now nothing is leaking into the pan. |
