Default Repointing an Old Stone House

My Stone house is over 165 years old a desperately in need of some
patching/repointing. I want to do it right the first but I don't have a lot
of spare cash to hire a professional so I guess I'll have to do it myself.
My problem there are lots of books on the market about build things from
stone but I haven't been able to find anything on repairing old stone work.

My question is does anyone know of some really good books on the subject or
some web sites or newsgroups that might be able to help me?

Thanks in advance

jimbo
