Honeywell aquastat
I recently had a Smith boiler with a Honeywell Aquastat L8124A
installed by a licensed (20 years experience) technician. The aquastat is set for Hi 190, Lo 170, with a 15 degree differential. When the unit was first switched on I expected to see the burner run until the temp reached 190 degrees and then switch off. But that's not what happened. The burner cut out when the temp got to 145. I had the installer swap the aquastat with another L8124A. Same result. I checked the temperature of the water coming out of the faucet at the base of the boiler. It was close to 145 degrees, so I'd say that the temp indicator is working properly. Could the installer have wired something wrong, or is this aquastat working properly? I thought that the aquastat would turn on the burner whenever the temp got below 180 degrees. |
