Default Gas Fireplace door open? Any CO monoxide poisoing issue?

If I leave the fireplace doors open will it be dangerous. It is a gas
firplace and it is not warm in the living area when the firplace door
is closed. Won't the Carbon monoxide escape throuh the vent.
