Transfer Switch - Blue Max JD4000 Generator
Hello all. I have a Blue Max JD4000 Generator. I recently purchased
it, and have never used it. My plan is to hire a professional to install a transfer switch. While the professional may have his own recommendations, I would like to get my feet wet and get educated on what options I might have, price, ect... Because this is not a permanent power solution, I want something I can plug the generator into, hit a switch and power important things in my home. Such as my furnace, sump pumps, a couple of lights, my electric stove and my refrigerator. I don’t know if this is an option, but it would be ideal if the switch would know if the power to the house has returned, and then automatically shuts the generator off, and turns the house power on. Anyhow, I appreciate any feedback you can offer. Thank you for looking at my posting. J - papa_smurf73 |

J - papa_smurf73 Look at Transfer Switches, Generac at Lowes has a complete kit for about $2-300 its prewired with exterior box, plugs, cable and sockets. A full kit should be cheaper than buying parts and matched up. Prewired and labeled makes it easier, 2 watt meters alow you to balance it running. Mine works well. |
