DATELINE -- (BUSINESS WIRE) - May 1, 2007, Camden, NJ, Plaintiff Hilda
Perez and her attorneys, Seth R. Lesser, Esq. of the Locks Law Firm, Mark R. Cuker, Esq. of Williams Cuker Berezofsky, and William Riback, Esq. of the Law Office of William Riback, announced today that an agreement has been reached to settle her class action lawsuit against Rent-A-Center, Inc., for $109 million. This class action settlement will fully reimburse those customers who entered into contracts with Rent-A-Center in the State of New Jersey during the period April 23, 1999 through March 16, 2006 for the amounts that they paid Rent-A- Center in excess of that permitted under the New Jersey law as resolved by the New Jersey Supreme Court in this case. These approximately 100,000 Rent-A-Center customers will each receive, on average, almost $800.00.
