Default Tinting primer with food coloring?

Can I tint water-based primer (Kilz2) with a few drops of food coloring?
I need to prime walls that are completely covered with textured
sheetrock mud and want to make sure I get good coverage.

Thanks,
K

I don't think it would hurt anything. However, the store where you
purchased it might tint it with the right stuff. Give the food coloring
a try.
Two coats of primer gives an even better result.
