Default Source for replacement telescoping rod antenna?

Looking to replace a telescoping rod antenna for a SWL set.

None of the "usual" sources on the net seem to carry them but the
general category is so ubiquitous that somebody must have them
available at retail.

The specific one I need to replace: dimensions in inches and (mm)

base diameter 0.276 (7)
tab width 0.079 (2)
tab length 0.354 (9)
mounting hole 0.118 (3)
extended 47 (1194)
collapsed 9 (229)
sections 6

Rich-

Perhaps they no longer carry such items, but Radio Shack used to have a line of
telescoping antenna replacements. You might look for an old copy of their
printed catalog and see if yours is listed. Since they converted from printed
catalogs to the web-based catalog, it is hard to find data.

Also try Digi-Key. I think that is where I saw an extensive listing of
antennas.

Have you looked for an exact replacement from the manufacturer? They might
have a US presence with an 800 number, where you can order replacement parts.

Another possibility is that particular radio was sold by Radio Shack with their
name on it. You can order parts for much of their equipment if it isn't too
old.

| Radio Shack still has three. One will almost work but its collapsed
| length would stick out past the edge of the case. Not ideal but I
| suspect that's what I'll end up going with.

Try 1 800 THE SHACK and see if they have a non-store item.

I'll give it a try, thanks.

Check out the Second Hand Stores. Some ol' AM/FM+Cassette boombox
may have just what you're looking for. Three--four dollars and
you're good as new. :-)

I have a whole slew of telescoping antennae that was part of a HUGE lot of
stuff I purchased from an electronics repair facility that went T.U. If
anyone needs one let me know and I will see if I can come up with what you
need.

Just checked my inventory. If you need ANY antennae that is 16" or less
collapsed, rabbit ears, round wire, bow shaped, etc.. for most any TV,
Radio, Walkie Talkie, portable CB, I more than likely have it because I
found out I have a bin full of that type of stuff that I was unaware just
how many were there. 99% of them are in factory packaging and most come with
the base attached as well. If you base is still on the unit then all you
have to do with most is unscrew the antennae from the base and place it on
your item. Anyhow feel free to email me a detailed description or pic and I
will see what I can do.
