Help! Need Sansui TV/VCR Remote or Codes
Hi, all. I have a Sansui CLD0065 LCD 6" TV/VCR unit. It's a neat little
unit and it works fine. Alas, the person I bought it from didn't have the remote. When I got home, I discovered that many functions, including record, can only be done from the remote! There isn't even a record button on the machine. I bought a universal remote that supposedly could run this machine, and it does, but it has no tape speed button (and the machine is currently stuck in SP), and the volume control codes on it don't work. Does anybody have a remote for this unit? Also, I have Omniremote for Palm (the learning remote software program), so I could get by with a database with the codes for this remote, instead of the real thing, if someone has that. I couldn't find one on the internet. Any help is MUCH appreciated. I really like this little TV/VCR, but I can't do much with it without the remote or the codes. Thanks! Sincerely, Michael |

You will need to get in touch with the parts department of Sansui, or one of
their dealers and order an original remote. The universal remotes cannot work all the functions. The learn mode is able to by taking a data reading from the IR diode and writing this to its memory. You would have to have a manual data code entry capability on your remote in order to put in the codes. As for the actual codes for these devices, this is something that is not even in the service manuals of these units. The universal remote manufactures buy the code table information from the original manufactures under specific agreements. -- Greetings, Jerry Greenberg GLG Technologies GLG ========================================= WebPage http://www.zoom-one.com Electronics http://www.zoom-one.com/electron.htm ========================================= "Michael" wrote in message ... Help! Need Sansui TV/VCR Remote or Codes
Post the FCCID# off the back. Someone may know the real manufacturer of the
unit. If they didn't use a custom code for Sansui, it'll probably be way easier to get one from the "real" factory, or another brand, such as Phillips, Sears, whatever, all you need is their model #. This can be tricky, but it gives you another avenue to find it. Incidentally, if you have the universal now, try the codes for Funai, Broksonic, Phillips, Sears and any brand name you recognize as an old Hifi audio brand, like Marantz, Fisher. If one works, I'm not saying it'll be easier to get, but if you got more options you're more likely to hit. I'd also give eBay a shot, people do sell broken stuff there, so if you find one with a broken screen, you should not only be able to get the remote, but alot of spare parts, maybe even an extra battery and charger.(I did kinda assume it's AC/DC) Unfortunately if the screen is broken, the lamp is possibly broken too, but maybe not.
