For a repair, right?

Y'know, this is exactly the sort of situation
where cross-posting would be appropriate.
(That would allow *everyone* reading your request
to read **all** of the responses to it.)

One of those will probably work.

Jeff,
I don't use newsgroups very often. I hope I have done something taboo by
crossposting. As a matter of fact, there are some interesting links in a
reply in that other group.

Charles, Thanks. Every little bit helps.
Yes, perhaps one of those will work. Electronics is not my strong suit.
I'll have a bit of a time figuring out which one.

Thanks for the replies!

Alp

What you did was *non* cross-posting;
what you did was MULTI-post.
I can't think of a situation where that is a superior method.

....which echoes my point.

Electronics is not my strong suit.

You STILL haven't said if this is for a REPAIR.
It sounds like you are trying to build
a project that you found in a magazine from 1967.
If that is the case,
an LM555 would probably be a *much* better way to go:
cheaper and far more readily available.

The relay/timer is part of a 25-30 year old mass spectrometer. It was
working fine until something in the relay/timer stopped working.
I had a spare, I popped it in and the mass spectrometer is working
again. I have no more spare relay/timers so I want to fix the one I took
out just in case the replacement goes.

I'll have time to put into it in about 2 weeks.

Thanks

Alp

You are most welcome. The 2N4870 will probably work.
