It's mostly about expressiveness, and Jerry was in a class by himself

playing. * His acoustic performances, accompanied by only John Kahn,
were masterful.

I agree completely, however you still have to be listening to what
you're playing too. For me it all comes down to the ability to listen-
to other players and yourself

some awesome stuff IMO

i`ve got no SYMPATHY AT ALL for heroin addicts , druggies , dope smokers
etc.. they can all rot in hell.....
some how a musician , pop star ( micheal jackson / pedophile ) etc... can
do anything at all and thats ok , but if a regular person of the street does
any of those things , everyone says " ohhh how DISGUSTING.. "

Well, now there you're wrong. Seriously. One of the shows
during the last year of his life was a JGB gig in Phoenix. They
played five songs, hauntingly beautiful, when suddenly they left the
stage and finally after about 15 minutes, someone came back to
announce that Jerry was unable to continue (read, too smacked up).

Everybody got a refund, we were all bummed, but I'll never forget
how great Jerry sounded that night.
