What am I missing about this band?
I was a late-comer Grateful Dead fan starting in the late 70s, up until the band was no more. I smoked a lot of weed and could sit still for hours, thinking about everything and nothing, while enjoying their bluesy noodling and thoughtful lyrics. Then, along came Phish. I tried and I tried, and I've tried, again. But, still, to this day, they seem like a bunch of bored ivy leaguers sitting around a stuffy living room making that **** up as they go along. What am I missing? I want to love this band named Phish. |

I once attended a Grateful Dead concert at Sandstone in Kansas City to see what all the hubbub was....the whole place was filled with people looking to score acid...hippies walking past me saying "doses". And I didn't say this one experience made me think they suck ass....I felt they sucked ass before, but was talked into going by those who don't think they suck ass....I came away thinking they still suck ass. And after reading Tom Davis's (of Franken and Davis fame) new book I came away thinking they suck ass even more than I'd ever imagined anything could suck ass. Dan PS you don't have to send your posts to my inbox also. Thanks. |

I always heard that one song they played on the airways of the Dead, and I absolutely hated that song. That was the only song I ever heard until MTV. I was down at Nags's Head, and the Dead were playing at a little pub down the street. Didn't seem to get any interest on going there that night. This was after the death of the dead. Sombody did find an old Dead CD in the parking lot. Was it thrown out ?? greg |
