Default Sony KV-32S40 dead.

MX0841B regulator, & 2SC5148 horizontal output shorted, R607 0.1 ohm
fusible open, soldered horiz drive, replaced C502 in horiz drive,
checked D648 avalanche diode, &
found no other parts bad. Soldered vertical IC, used variac, slowly up
to line voltage,
unit ran fine, great picture, then, after 30 secs or so, just quitely
died, same parts
gone again. I didn't have a VDR 602 P # 1-801-074-41, (V10271U), & it
measured
open circuit, so I let it ride. I had 1-807-288-11, but they are
different. Never got to
check to horiz drive waveform. Did I miss something? Even when you
repair these
great units, as per all the info around, some units just blow up, no
matter how much
time you spend on them. Anyone have some insight. Thanks. Dani.
