Default charger ic

hi, any body know of a automotive lead acid battery charger controller ic
suitable for 10 amps, that will then trickle charge/ maintain the battery ?

Mind you, trickle charge is an excellent way to kill batteries.
Use an on/off strategy instead,something like:
Stop at 95-100 percent.
Restart at 80-85 percent.
Newer computer based chargers do that.

One of the best known is the Optimate, there's a variety of imitations, some
Honda spares outlets stock one with switcheable 6/12V

In the UK we have the Lidl chain of stores which periodically offer car
battery chargers - not as good as an Optimate but delivers higher initial
charge current, although you have to press the membrane pad to start it so
if there's a power outage the charger resets.

They discontinued the 12V only type, now has an extra button to select 6V.
