W/ slow dialup I haven't seen the video but in order for it to be in the range of a violin the length from bridge to neck fret was probably made to be very similar; hence fingering would also be nearly equivalent. Otherwise, it would scale depending on the length and the string tension would be adjusted appropriately as is the case for childs' 3/4-size instruments, for example. Well, I think violin's have a neck that is less than 1/2" in diameter (without the fingerboard) so I think the bat would be harder to play because of the size (and a lot of other reasons)! A player would need to learn new "reference points" and get a new shoulder rest! Bill |
