I just recieved a Delta band saw and am trying to get some information for
it.
I was told it was made in the 1950-60's
It is cast iron. Probably industrial model as it is large. The distance from
the bottom of the lower wheel to the top of the upper wheel is 41 inches.
I was given the saw for free because the man's wife wanted to park in the
garage and he has never used it. It belonged to his grandfather.
Where can I get info on this saw.

He also tried to sell me a Craftsman 12" wood lathe, model # 113 23800 and
ended up giving it to me when I told him I wouldn't pay money for it.

Gee... free bandsaw and a free lathe and now you want others to tell you
where to try and find free information. Try Delta and Sears. The BS will
have a model number and a serial number. Delta may even send you a free
manual after you dial their toll-free number. Now would you like someone to
tell you how to use the tools too...?

That would be great. I can figure out where it plugs in, but haven't used
power tools before. I didn't know about Sears, thanks for that. I searched
Delta's site and couldn't find information for a saw this old. I will try
Sears and try not to bother you again.

Okay, now I believe that you are not a troll - here's some info you may
want to try.

Plus there's an old codger that hangs around these parts that knows a thing
or two about old iron (especially Delta) and if you have the model and
serial number, he can probably tell you the day it was assembled and by
whom... Goes by the name of UA100 now but has been known by many others -
some of which are not nice to print so I understand.......

As for the lathe, go here http://www3.sears.com/ type in the model number
and follow the link. Type in "manual" and it will show a part number
(70017) which you should/maybe can order.

Ahh, nothing wrong with being called a troll once in awhile. What really
ranks though is when someone like JT calls you polite. Now, that really
