Now to rec.ww to get the details. I'm thinking it would be easy enough to turn one from hardwood on the lathe... I did this. I was interested in using a 1/4 inch chuck for other reasons so made mine this way. It seemed too limber to move the base to center while under tension, so I had a friend turn me one out of steel. If you made it to fit a 1/2 inch chuck hardwood would probably work. -- Gerald Ross Cochran, GA He ended the job as he began it; fired with enthusiasm. --Don O'Shaughnessy |

Here's a bushing set from Rockler that already has a device to help center the bushings. http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=10671 Seems a reasonable price since you get a set of bushings and the centering bits. I think that Gerald was asking if the maximum diameter of the cone is larger than the center opening of the router base which you're attempting to adjust. Gerald, it doesn't need to be. The only time I think that you'd need this device is when you were trying to center a base used with a bushing or template guide. In that case, you just fit the router base with a small bushing, center it using this device and then insert whatever size bushing you need. |

I thought it would only be used when making NEW bases, centering them prior to drilling holes for fastening it to the router. I've never seen a base which would adjust at all on the router. Have you?!? -- Some days, it's not even worth chewing through the restraints. |

I've included the Bosch website if the Amazon link doesn't work. http://www.amazon.com/BOSCH-S-B-Powe.../dp/B0006BD7VM http://www.boschtools.com/PRODUCTS/T...spx?pid=RA1150 Chris |
