Why does ravel and unravel mean the
same thing?

Hell of a good idea. Now let's see of we can't convince the manufacturers!

They changed the toolrest, or is that an aftermarket?

I was in the States yesterday and went to Lowes..
I WAS planning to just buy 6 bolts but I was smart for once and brought along
one of the nuts from the factory set..
It was metric and the US ones were 1/2 - 13, so I splurged and bought 6 nuts for
28 cents apiece.

Not sure why metric would make a difference though, Gerald?
They're all through bolts, except for the 2 "optional" ones into the bottom of
the head stock..

I haven't noticed any stability issues yet but haven't used it a lot.. could
there be a problem with this?

BTW: I got the 2 bowls in the mail today.. very cool wood..

Thanks!

Nope, it's "stock"...
Looks like it had a long lever where the bolt is now, huh?
Can the rod at either end be used to lock it?

If you're thinking "rod" as on the opposite end of the banjo and black,
that's a coincident section of line cord. Closest plug is over there, and
the box with the clip flood outlets also contains the power switch. I
originally left the one that was on the motor intact, but it was a reach
over the zone with faceplate turnings, and with spindle turnings you're
generally in front anyway, so the dominant hand won out.

You're welcome. Did the Acorn box survive the trip? It's not for you,
it is for your wife to keep her loose diamonds in.

I notice you have a "dish" on your headstock. I have a rectangular
plastic box velcro'd to mine to keep a pencil and other small items
in. My Delta had a box built in on top and that spoiled me.

BOX???
Ok, I went and looked again and gave it to her.. she said it was "cute"... the
most dreaded word to a married man besides "sale"

When we opened the package, she said "oh, an acorn nic-nac!
We had NO idea it was a box... Very cool...

Oh, ok.. so the difference is in longer handles for the banjo and rest then,
right?

Closest plug is over there, and the box with the clip flood outlets also contains the power switch. I

Hmm... I'm guessing from the picture that your Nova is digital speed, right?

If so, is it ok to use the power switch instead of the On & Off buttons?

Besides forgetting to turn the power off after stopping the motor for the night,
I really miss my remote switch with magnet that I used on the other lathes..
Same thing as your reasoning, I want the off switch accessible to me wherever I
am at the time and without reaching over the spinning piece to shut it off..
