Default Broken oneway :( **An update!**

Got things working again. Many thanks to Kevin at Oneway. With his help
and a couple of downloaded manuals from the internet I was able to track the
problem to a sticky emergency shut down switch. I've disabled the switch
and will give it a good cleaning, if that doesn't work Kevin offered to
replace it for free.

To those who talked about the other Oneway unexplainable shut down problems.
Some said it was when they were turning "large" chunks of wood the problem
happened. Check the breaking setting on the control panel. Your inverter
may not be able to handle the breaking on a heavy load if its set to break
quickly. That has happened to me in the past, always goes away when I
switch to slow breaking. I knew that wasn't the problem here because the
lathe would shut down even under a light load. As for the rest with mystery
shut downs, when and if it happens again, before you shut down the machine
or retry starting, open the electrical box and note what the LED read out
says. E.g. Mine read EF6. Translation: External Fault 6. I.e. the
inverter is all right, it's an external circuit connected to S6 terminal.
You can find the manual written for your inverter at the Yaskawa website
http://www.drives.com/products/default.asp. You should be able to track
down the error code

Has anyone had any experience with a oneway 2436 and a failed inverter.

I'm
truly bummed, I shut it down earlier today and when I went to fire it back
up tonight - nothing. Re-programmed it - still nothing. Harrumph! I've
had on going problems with it where it would just shut itself off right in
the middle of turning. It would shut off two or three times over a five
minute period and then work fine for a few weeks or months and then do it
again. And to top it off the thing doesn't have more than 500 hours on

it.
I've notice on a friends new 2436 that oneway is using a different
inverter - so I'm thinking maybe they change to a new brand do to problems
