Now imagine it spinning at 3000 rpms while he cuts THIS!

Then imagine that those straight 45s are S-curves.

Finally, imagine turning a lid for this "box" - that also
has a matching S-curve - with a pop fit.

When he first mounted the piece between centers and
cranked the lathe up to it's maximum speed the roar
was like that of a plane propeller - and folks in the
front row instantly moved out of The Line Of Fire.
Hell, I was standing 15 feet away, not even in The
Line of Fire - and I jumped well out of the way!
