The really scarey part is how fast things are going up in price, leo...

The lot was $30k and the house will be a bit over $140k.. they say that it's
already worth over $300k and it's not done yet!

Good news is that it's now worth more than our house in CA... not that it helps
anything but ego since we're selling the CA house, not the Baja one..

Bad news is that the plans for the 2nd house, which is 400 sf smaller because of
no shop will be almost $130k because building costs are going up so fast...

The cool thing about the tile is that it was so inexpensive, we're not worried
about the possibility of it getting messed up in the shop.. very easy cleanup
compared to my present shop..

You're not kidding, Mac. The new housing market has hit bottom in the
midwest as far as I can tell- most the guys I know are out of work,
and it doesn't look to be getting any better. I've been working about
five hours away in Illinois for the past couple of months just to keep
the bills paid. It's a good thing you got started when you did, or
the whole thing might have been out of reach.

But luckily, the oil companies are having a good run- wouldn't want
the guys at Haliburton or Exxon missing any meals...
