Hi
Got a Kress hammer drill/chisel which has given me great service. However I
need a part for it but I cannot find a service centre which supplies parts.
Can anyone pont me in the right direction??
Thanks.

Kress spare parts (German site) is at

http://spareparts.kress-elektrik.de/en/index.php

They don't list a UK agent (probably because of some exclusive
contract with Wickes) but I would suspect that an independent
repair shop would be able to source what you need.

It will be very interesting to find out what Wickes has to offer since
they apparently have an exclusive for the UK.

It is a matter of ringing them up and saying you have a Wickes Kress drill,
and who does the service.

Well, I hope that it's successful. IME, the next thing that you
would hear is the dialing tone.....

I once called B&Q's helpline for PPPro and Ryobi and asked about
service arrangements after warranty.

There was a silence followed by some switchboard shuffle.

I didn't give anybody a hard time, there were no suggestions of
onanism or sheep and wellies or indeed any other suggestion that there
wasn't a solid arrangement behind all of this.

However, they really did dig their own grave. I didn't need to say or
do a thing.

Maybe the outcome will be better and God really is present in the
D7000 postcode.

The answer I got from Kress when I emailed them on this very subject is

however) (email addresses munged by me):

Many thanks John

Actually got the drill through a local power tool shop 5 years ago.
Was not aware Wickes stocked them.

Under the Wickes label (grey). You ask the info people and if it is made in
Germany it is a Kress. Some of the other pro range are made by other
companies. The SDS drills are Kress.

Kress have the only web site which has parts blow up diagrams. Superb.

This might be true... but only if you ignore all the other makers who do
exactly the same (i.e most of them):

A couple by way of example:

Nope. DW and B&D have that, as do Makita and Bosch in the US.

You can buy all the parts for these quite easily.

Are sure you didn't mean blow up dolls?

So you like to drool over websites showing parts diagrams of tools you
don't possess?

Say no more...

Just got a new Bosch GSB 18VE-2 last week, and that came with exploded
diagrams for all GSB and GSR models from 12v to 24v.

Both my jigsaw and random orbit sander did.

Some years old now.

I keep all these sort of things in a box file. Well, several. :-)

If Bosch don't anymore, they've joined the throw away society. So should
suit IMM who likes to buy cheap and pay dear.

Checked the most recent Bosch publication---07/85! No drawings but a
list of service centres! I keep data going back 40 years for some
items. All my Bosch tools are, I realise, over 20 years old and still
running like new, one repair to a jigsaw, and that's after 2 houses, 3
extensions and countless other jobs. However the more recent SKIL does
have a drawing and the chuck spins off under some circumstances

They are separate leaflets/books, I keep all mine and I definitely have
exploded parts diagrams for my Bosch tools in the box along with the
service centre list which is usually a smaller leaflet affair,
