Hi all, looking for a router table. Haven`t a clue where to start. Its for a
Freud 1/2 inch router. Doing general work nothing specific. Dont really want a pile of ****e, but neither do I want to pay £300. Anyone have any experience of using them, any good and bad points to a certain model. Also Buy and Queue are doing the rexon mitre saw and stand for circa £70, is it a pile of dog pooh or worth it for serious diy. Thanks all. John |

It works ok, but doesnt move me to shout its praises from the rooftops. The experience I had went something like this.. Me - Norm's (Norm Abrams NYW) got a router table, can I have one? She - Go on then if it will keep you quiet. Me (Back from B&Q) - Cool! Me - It's built, love! Me - Here we go... Me and She - %&$$£&% that's loud! It's not that loud on the television (!!) Me - Just popping to B&Q dear, ear defenders you know... She (muttering) - Idiot. Moral of the story? Ear defenders are a must with router tables, and damned useful with other power-tools. Steve (that's STEVE.. Beg pardon?) Steve. Overlord of the Stuffed Attic. If it moves, I'll keep it.. If it stands still, I'll keep it.. If I want it, it's up there somewhere... If I've not yet used it, it's not been kept long enough... ================================================== = Any opinions voiced that are possibly contentious were not written by me. Honest. No, really! Well, they might have been. Or not. Burble-Burble ================================================== = ================================================== = |

I have a Wolfcraft, and use it a lot. Claims to take most routers (I have a half inch Freud). I had to drill the adaptor plate provided, but no big deal. Bigger than the B&Q, so may depend on how much space you have. I like it. I might even stand on the roof and praise it at moderate volume. ZD |
