I don't know why these drawer runners and wall-starters are even being suggested, given it was a new roof job didn't involve either! You only said it was a new roof job later. What sort of roof ? If its tiles etc almost certainly they are what is used to keep the tiles etc stacked properly on the pallets they came on. |

They'd never be strong enough! Far too easily bent with the fingers alone. Here's the same item from some other angles: https://yandex.com/collections/card/...f33bbb2c63da0/ https://yandex.com/collections/card/...f33bbb2c63d9f/ https://yandex.com/collections/card/...f33bbb2c63d9e/ Perfectly strong enough for shelf supports, you find such stuff inside metal cabinets, If I get time I might, take a photo. |

And shouldn't be hard to check by checking other houses being re roofed and see what is in the pallets of tiles not yet laid. |

I hope your builders followed the manufacturers installation instructions to the letter. Our resident ex-tv aerial installer says he has seen some awful examples of bad workmanship. At least with conventional ridge and hip tiles, bedded in the correct mortar mix, a bad job is still obvious from the ground using binoculars. Dry-fit ridge systems hide the important detail from the eye, even if you were up on the roof. If its tiles etc almost certainly they are what is used to keep the tiles etc stacked properly on the pallets they came on. Seems the most likely suggestion thus far. |
