I am thinking of spending quite a lot of money on a new GRP flat roof for my
garage/balcony and would welcome comments, good or bad on this system. A pal of mine says he has read bad reports of splitting etc - can anybody confirm or deny this? Specifically I am intending to place an order with The Flatroof Company www.flatroof.co.uk for their 'Tuffdeck' system. I would welcome comments from anyone with experience of this company. I await comments with keen anticipation.... Malcolm H |

Also a more simple GRP roof on the room over the garage - this is just GRP matting over exterior ply but it seems to be doing O.K. I replaced the ceiling recently and the underneath of the roof looked fine. IMHO much better that the traditional roofing felt. HTH Dave R P.S. if it is done properly it shouldn't split - there would be a lot of unhappy sailors otherwise. |

Malcolm H They make boat and cars out of the stuff, the material is 100% when done corectly, of cource if you have an idiot fit it your roof may still leak. Rick |

Also it would be intersting to know what weight of mat or roving they use in the fibreglass layer and/or how thick the fibreglass is. cheers, Pete. |
