Computer Bluetooth question
On 07/01/2019 14:50, Scott wrote:
I hope this qualifies as DIY as I am hoping to do the job myself! I have a new Fitbit, which I cannot pair with my PC (it works fine with my iPad). The message is that I need to turn on Bluetooth. However, I already have a wireless keyboard and wireless mouse, which I assume are Bluetooth devices. I have two dongles a the moment - one for the keyboard and one for the mouse. Both are HP, so I wonder if I need two. More immediately, I thought Fitbit would work with any generic Bluetooth adapter. Is a keyboard adapter more limited in its capabilities than a Bluetooth adapter? Any ideas? Bizarrely, my old Fitbit worked okay. The way ours always worked: - watch paired with phone. - App running on phone and logged into fitbit account. - Software installed on PC and logged into same above account. - PC always showing up-to-date progress. |

Thinking about it, this probably explains it. Mine paired with my iPad. The PC and iPad I assume viewed the same data. |

PC software reads from it. Their hardware & software is not great - we are on the 3rd generation, and it is still pretty rubbish. Very tricky to do the initial setup, but once done it works fine most of the time. |
