It sometimes makes me feel very awkward when being 'served' (in a shop

I feel awkward because I know what our country is currently saying to
them ... that they aren't welcome, wanted or appreciated and that is
very very far from the case, as I'm afraid we will all find out if
this Brexit farce struggles through. ;-(

Think the fact may be is they show up many UK born for just how useless
they are in comparison.

Yup.

The idea EU workers steal jobs by undercutting
locals on wages is plainly rubbish in so many cases with skilled and semi
skilled workers.

Of course, their 'work ethic' is across the board.

It's why UK farmers simply can't get native workers fruit picking and
when did you last see a hand car wash manned by natives?

Most of the technical / assistant type roles in hospital seem to be
manned by EU workers as well (we often make a point of asking them
OOI). The guy doing the Wife's functional (heart) Ultrasound was from
Portugal and the lady who administered my barium swallow was from
Latvia.

60% of the doctors in our local surgery are non native.

But why would the natives bother going though all that training and
put in all those hours when they can get rich quick being a footballer
or popstar (or dealing drugs)?

Cheers, T i m
