You need to keep your cat properly amused - play tunnel, scratching post,
ramps and walkways nailed up at picture rail height.

---
You need to come to the realization that you're an idiot, although
that's not likely to happen because your idiocy will get in the way of
your illumination.

You can't, apparently, just enjoy the image of one of my kitties being
happily at rest in an unconventional bed, without perverting the image
by issuing edicts about how you think what my cats should be subjected
to during their waking hours.

Figures, since I've criticized you once or twice on technical issues
and you just can't stand being found lacking, so you retaliate in any
way you can.

Sounds to me like you should court Larkin's daughter.

Well, your Either - Or argument states that if I criticize you, and
realize that more than half of my criticism is criticism then my
statement that it seems to you that my criticism is taking on the
character of psychotic compulsion because you can't believe that
you're not above criticism must be true.

Then, since I'm at least aware as you are of what constitutes
criticism, my statement: "Perhaps it seems that way to you because you
can't believe that you're not above criticism." stands.

Me? More hostile???

Geez, John, all I'm saying is that it sounds to me like it'd be a
match made in heaven since Ian seems to be just like you.

Just think how convenient that'd be if you couldn't make it to the
wedding to give way the bride...

All that'd have to be done would be to set up a full length mirror, to
catch Ian's reflection, and he could do it himself.

Me? More and more stupid???

That sounds like an Ad Hominem attack to me and, anyway, who asked you
to stick your nasty little nose into the thread, yenta?

You need to keep your cat properly amused - play tunnel, scratching
post,
ramps and walkways nailed up at picture rail height.

---
You need to come to the realization that you're an idiot, although
that's not likely to happen because your idiocy will get in the way of
your illumination.

You keep getting more and more hostile. More and more stupid, too.

John

Not just me he keeps trying to antagonise then?!

Hey, I'm way ahead of you as a cluck-ee. The old hen never misses an
opportunity to escalate, and he never forgets a perceived slight.

I made a suggestion for keeping his cat amused and he seems to have
percieved that as an attack - he should get tablets for that!

If he's like that with people face to face, he probably shouldn't be let out
on his own!

It's not 'percieved', it's 'perceived', and you're a liar.

What you wrote was:

"You need to keep your cat properly amused - play tunnel, scratching
post, ramps and walkways nailed up at picture rail height."

which isn't a suggestion, it's an effrontery.

Certainly, if English is your first language and you have control of
even a modicum of nuance, you'd know that and, that since it's an
effrontery, an attack.

But, perhaps I've given you too much credit.

Certainly a mantra for pukes like you who'd like to keep those they
can't understand or control, intellectually, under their thumb.

not afraid to tell you, to your face, what an asshole you are,
asshole.

Your safety, I'm sure, is what you have in mind.

You seem to have this need to suppress, rather than to want to
honestly engage in dialogue which disagrees with yours and which could
prove you wrong, and battle it out, to the bitter end.

Is that the English way?

Send them to the tower when the king feels threatened by their
dialogue, torture them in order to get them to recant, and then chop
off their heads whether they're recalcitrant or not?

You need to keep your cat properly amused - play tunnel, scratching
post,
ramps and walkways nailed up at picture rail height.

---
You need to come to the realization that you're an idiot, although
that's not likely to happen because your idiocy will get in the way
of
your illumination.

You can't, apparently, just enjoy the image of one of my kitties
being
happily at rest in an unconventional bed, without perverting the
image
by issuing edicts about how you think what my cats should be
subjected
to during their waking hours.

Figures, since I've criticized you once or twice on technical issues
and you just can't stand being found lacking, so you retaliate in any
way you can.

Sounds to me like you should court Larkin's daughter.

If he's like that with people face to face, he probably shouldn't be let
out
on his own!

Yeah, what a grumpy old fart.

We have two cats, SPCA sisters, named Comet and Ajax. Very clean cats.

Some A-list pet shops sell a kind of activity tree, usually a very small
tree cut down the middle so you can mount it to a wall, the branches are cut
short so they don't dominate the room.

Cats totally love it - a scratching post and they can doze on the branch
stubs or just rest there and survey their surroundings.

You need a pretty big living room of course - but maybe you're too pikey to
give your cat a happy life.

Well, that's just about it, Bozo.

Larkin, at least, has technical acumen and, on occasion, wit which
makes him moderately interesting.

You, on the other hand, seem to have a paucity of redeeming virtues of
any sort, so let me just put it this way: "Welcome to my filter." :-)

Me? More hostile???

Geez, John, all I'm saying is that it sounds to me like it'd be a
match made in heaven since Ian seems to be just like you.

I made a suggestion how to keep your cat amused and you went ballistic!

---
No, you didn't.

You tried to start a fight, it worked, and now that you're being shown
up for the scurrilous, lily-livered lightweight you are, you're
back-pedaling as fast as you can in order to keep from being fully
outed.

More and more stupid!

He's competing hard for Philthy's position of Usenet's raving loony.

You criticize me so often its beginning to take the character of
psychotic
compulsion!

---
Perhaps it seems that way to you because you can't believe that you're
not above criticism.

Ian is of that "class" who are so ignorant they don't know the
definition of ignorant ;-)

Sticking up for your bumchum eh?

Birds of a feather. Hens, in this particular instance.

---
And when we find worms we dispatch them quickly, so it's our peckers
you're afraid of, yes?

Stupid, paranoid geezer.

John
