I'll have a shufti at a "proper" hardware store and see what they have but it could end up costing me a lot more in fuel than postage. Tim -- Remove the obvious to reply by email. If the soles are thick enough, these are shorter and drill their own hole, but you'll need to screw them a fair way in to get to the thread: Screwfix 19050. -- Some drink from the fountain of knowledge, others gargle. Close, but I think their lack of threads will mean that they'll pull out too easily. Cheers. Tim -- Remove the obvious to reply by email. Please support rheumatoid arthritis research! Seriously, slotted hex head, self tapping, threaded all the way to the tip, in 1/4" 3/8" & 1/2" lengths? Tim -- Remove the obvious to reply by email. Please support rheumatoid arthritis research! wrote: Anyone know where I can get sheet metal screws like the ones here? PC case screws (the coarse thread ones). I imagine most of us have a surplus by now. You'll need an awl (NOT a drill) to start the holes. This sort of self-drilling screw won't self drill into a shoe sole anyway, unless you cut the threaded part off and use it in a drill chuck. Trying to drive a spike-ended screw in wth just a screwdriver is going to slip and skewer yourself. -- Die Gotterspammerung - Junkmail of the Gods |
