But the point is the party is NOT in power. Bliar is, and pretty much Bliar alone. What I want is a hung parliament, so that every step needs the support of at leats one oher party, and condierable consultation. At the moment any crap can get on the lawbooks, and any expenditure be appropiated for lunatic schemes. What is increasing is teh public realization of that. Do you really think that the public at large have the faintest comprehension of the issues involved here? Yes. Even if they do, do you think that they actually *care* about dossiers, Kelly, Hutton, WMDs, etc.? Yes. They care that they ave been lied to, or that their leader is a fool. It seems to be a common thing amongst labour supporters to despse teh Public, their intelligence, and their political will. Tony certainly does. However naive the electorate is, they don't take kindly to being patronised. Its also a very grave error to make an enemy of the press. The key to the success of any government is (in Bill Clinton's words): "its the economy, stupid". The 'demon eyes' poster is now looking almost precognitive in its accuracy... RAOTFL .... |
