Wood pellets
Have to fix about 150 screws into treated softwood ......using screw &
pellet fixing. Instead of making the pellets .... decided to buy them. Found a supplier but as I had used pressure treated tanalized wood ... didn't want to use untreated pellets ......... No problem send them some off cuts and they make the pellets out of your wood - and instead as you might think charging extra, they charge less as you are supplying the wood - so custom serviced is cheaper - that is rare. Sent wood to them and had pellets back 3 days later - impressive service. So if you need wood pellets highly recommend "Appleby Wood turning" http://www.applebywoodturnings.co.uk/ Had a great conversation with owner, they had become a large company .. making thousands of large tapered pellets every day for beer barrels ... then in a very short period of time in the earl;y 60's brewers swapped to Aluminium kegs ... and they lost 90% of their business. Sold all the lathes and saws for scrap ... except for 2 for niche market. Glad to see capability not totally lost, once it's gone - it won't come back. |
