Default SCART copy prevention pin?

I have a couple of wireless analog camera recording onto a hdd
dvd recorder connected through a SCART plug.

Regularly recently it aborts the daily recording schedule and
leaves an error complaining about "protected source" which I
assume is it getting confused by a rogue signal from/to the SCART
connection? Is there a pin for copy prevention I could
butcher?

Or is it something else?

TIA

There is no copy protection pin on SCART:

Something else...

The HDD recorder is probably programmed to recognise Macrovision style
copy protected content. This is normally identifiable by a bright white
"bar" inserted into the video just before the vertical flyback section
of the waveform[1]. Chances are you have some noise or interference in
the video signal that is confusing the detection logic in the recorder.

[1] Its aim was to cause the AGC in a VCR to wind down the gain just
before the vertical flyback. As a result it made the recovery of the
sync pulses unreliable, and also the black level clamping got messed up.
So the result was a picture that frequently lost synch and rolled, and
the brightness would jump all over the place, making the copy unwatchable.

One of the old "Macrovision Defeat" boxes might help stabilise the
signal, depending on what is causing it.

Or a Time Base Corrector if you can get one cheaply...

No copy prevention on scart, and indeed if you expect to get hd through a
scart you are probably deluding yourself.

Good point, I used to use the "component" inputs but they packed
up so back to the SCART...

It's a bit **** :-)
