Default Any experience using silicone oil to soften rubber?

Old camper van window rubbers/seals, very hard, not cracking, yet.
Does silicone oil penetrate rubber and 'migrate' its plasticiser?
TIA

When I was restoring a Record Deck, I bought some rubber conditioner,
which worked well on the drive belt. It might also work for seals. I
can find the details if you wish.

Both attempts worked. I'll come back later with the details of the goo.

It is:

Platenclene, Print Roller Cleaner and Restorer.

Presumably used mainly in the printing industry.

Quote:
"Cleans rubber print rollers and restores grip."

Hope this helps.

No idea where I got it from, but it was online. A Search produces
hits, including Farnell, aka CPC, so that was probably my source.

If you buy and use it, let us know how well it works on the seals.
Always good information.

If it helps, the Hi-Fi guys who have hardened 'rubber' surrounds to
speaker units swear by brake fluid. Of course it may depend on what that
'rubber' actually is.
