Have some paving slabs forming a few steps on a patio.
The slabs have a couple of inches of overhang (which i know they should not have) so when people walk on the very edge, after a while the slabs tip up and become loose. I could try cementing them down again, but wonder if i could use something that would be more adhesive than cement? Any suggestions? |

If you find something that works, go public with it because you'll be a millionaire. IOW, nothing will stop them from tipping, you can either cut off the extra few inches with a grinder, or you can ask people not to walk on the edge, which they will ignore and you'll have your see-saw back. |

Can they be re-worked so that their back edge tucks under the riser of the next step ? Andrew |

Indeed - or just more paving slabs on edge, effectively moving the riser out a bit. -- Cheers, Roger ____________ Please reply to Newsgroup. Whilst email address is valid, it is seldom checked. |

I had this problem, question posed here some months back, and was told to try SBR added to cement mortar, both surfaces washed with a cement SBR "primer" and then mortared with 3:1 sand:cement mix with SBR. Still holding so far. AJH |

..if the slabs are loose you could take them up and cut the overhang amount off the back edge with an angle grinder fitted with a slab cutting blade (£4.00) from Tool Station. Then re-lay them with fresh mortar. Job done👍 -- for full context, visit https://www.homeownershub.com/uk-diy...g-1065621-.htm |
