Plain cheapo doors for base units
I have a load of base units without doors on at work.
I'd like to put doors on them but it isn't worth much of a spend, is there a supplier of the type of naff doors that used to come included with the base units sold by the sheds? |

There are tons of replacement cabinet door companies out there on the web... wickes and ikea also do them. Failing that you could make some. The quickest way would be some 3/4" thick softwood, say 3" wide. Cut a pair of rails and stiles. Pocket screw them together into a frame, then route a rebate in the back and drop in a bit of ply or MDF as a panel. Once painted it would look fine. -- Cheers, John. /================================================== ===============\ | Internode Ltd - http://www.internode.co.uk | |-----------------------------------------------------------------| | John Rumm - john(at)internode(dot)co(dot)uk | \================================================= ================/ |

Not that cheap though IIRC (we looked at this some years back for the kitchen in the old house. wickes and ikea also do them. Failing that you could make some. I used some 18mm MDF to make a couple of bathroom cabinet doors and they were fine once painted. -- Chris French |

I got a set (20 odd pieces) of solid oak doors for £50 without much of a wait. It seems to be one of the few things available in standard sizes. -- Cheers, Rob |

The hinges might not line up but that wasn't a serious problem on my old Hygena carcasses |

The frame fixing is onto a flat surface, so can be moved relatively easily. -- Cheers, John. /================================================== ===============\ | Internode Ltd - http://www.internode.co.uk | |-----------------------------------------------------------------| | John Rumm - john(at)internode(dot)co(dot)uk | \================================================= ================/ |
