Default kitchen - lining up base units with wall units

my wall units are in place with a splashback and chimney extractor.
i'm here to ask the best way of lining up the base units with the wall
units. the problem is that the worktop and upstand are already in
place so i cant just draw a straight line down from the wall
cabinets. what would be the best way of finding the correct position
of the base units, such as the oven housing which is meant to go
straight below the hob and extractor?

Plum line down to the work top and your eye?

Laser level set to "line" and aligned with plumb line?

Spirit level or plumb line.

the problem is the worktop is in place with an upstand so i cant
continue a line from above the worktop to below it??

i could use the wall as reference which is 1.1m away and measure above
the worktop to the splashback edge then the same distance from the
wall to below the worktop?

2 person job:

Hold a framing square against the wall units in line with an edge.
Hang a plumb bob down in line with the front of the worktop.
