Default MR16/GU5.3

Bought some MR16 lamps today, but the packaging is marked GU5.3?

Whats the difference if any, or is it just the terminology?

I think the MR16 refers to the bulb style (ie: 2" diameter so will fit
any holder that holds the front of such a bulb) and GU5.3 refers to the
connections (5.3 mm spacing?)
