The grills in microwaves are not that powerful. About the only thing I use mine for is doing a macaroni cheese combined with the microwave, but that's probably less often than once a year. Ovens can be OK, but microwaves don't have stay-clean liners like many ovens do, so they can be difficult to clean if you bake the crud on. I use the oven for plate warming, and just occasionally cooking food if I overflow the main oven. Have you already got an oven and/or a grill? -- Andrew Gabriel [email address is not usable -- followup in the newsgroup] |

Microwave Replacment.
Baz explained on 01/10/2012 :
My Microwave is on its way out. I am interested in suggestions for a replacement. Bog Standard. Or With a Grill Or With a Grill Plus Oven. TIA We have the later, which provides an handy backup for our usual facilities, but having said that we have needed a backup in the six years since we bought it. Backup plan C, would be to use the facilites in the caravan. -- Regards, Harry (M1BYT) (L) http://www.ukradioamateur.co.uk |

Microwave Replacment.
How about a microwave with four 250W magnetrons, each in a different position in the oven wall? You would have genuine control and there would be far fewer hotspots. Bill |
