It seems to a page put up by someone who lives their life by cheesy

Did you try the link? I expect not otherwise you would have found
that it does work, I'm not on faceache. But to be honest it's not
worth the waste of a mouse click, just like faceache in general.

+1 ....

Sadly, I suspect the time will come when it's advantageous to do so.
Quite a few online suppliers are snuggling up to FB, and it's only a
matter of time till orders via FB get a discount worth having.

It amuses me when people express surprise that I don't do FB, since I
work in IT. What they fail to appreciate, is I don't do FB *because* I
work in IT.

Alternatively the hip and trendy will find something new and Facebook
will be left as a hangout for old codgers and will go the way of Yahoo!

I know one young person who used Facebook from the time they started in
this country who has already closed their account.

What he said.

The more I find out about FB, the less I want to go there.

I don’t expect we will actually see any reports of Facebook
suits pouring from their windows like lemmings as soon as
they read your post.

Cant imagine why for the life of me.

Some teenage girls on the train the other day were saying they'd all left
FB "because it's boring".

Isn't facebook successful because its a free social network? Once
businesses start pushing their wares in a big way the appeal of the
network may wane. It's another bubble waiting to be burst.

Yes.

network may wane.

Nope, they'll just ignore them like the ignore
the other 99.999999999% of facebook.

It's another bubble waiting to be burst.

Nope. It'll be like ebay, once it gets up a decent
head of steam, and both have now, it wont burst.

Nothing like the same way.

There were plenty of competitors for ebay that faded away.

Ebay didn't.

Or me.

Facebook scares me ****less.

I met some people last night I hadn't seen for years and years. If half
of what we said and did then had been open to potential public scrutiny
held forever on someones servers I doubt either of is would have had a
career beyond visiting the job centre every week.

As far as I'm aware, you're not legally obliged to make an arse of yourself
or post anything incriminating on Facebook if you have an account. That
sort of activity is entirely optional.

Facebook can be a useful networking tool. If you don't need it, don't use
it but it has it's place in the big scheme of things. 10 thousand billion
users can't all be entirely wrong.

Just like with usenet, and a hell of a lot more people too.

I do prefer usenet myself, dont like any system with jackbooted
thugs who can pull the plug on anything they dont like.
