We do make mistakes, but at least we try and keep our
work in Wales by using (as far as possible) local firms and
labour (even if the main contractor comes from over the
border) - unlike the English mob who want to use cheap
foreign labour and outsource/or sell everything in sight!

Taint just the english, that Irish doco series on fishermen
had more foreigners than Irish, essentially because so
few of the Irish wanted that sort of work.

And that series on the english country hotel where almost
everyone except the manager was a foreigner claimed that
none of the locals were interested in doing the work either.

Locals don't take those jobs because the owners pay so little

That is a lie with both of those.

really

Yep.

you know of entry level hospitality jobs that pay anything more than NMW

Thats not 'pay so little'

Given how "****ty" the hours are - yes it is!

Or maybe the other way around. The article doesn't say which version was
correct and I would think it more likely that it was put up by someone
who doesn't speak Welsh than by someone who doesn't speak English.

Colin Bignell

There is a picture somewhere of a sign where the Welsh version says:
"The recipient will respond to your e-mail when they return from
holiday". No prizes for working out how that happened.
