Delamination house stone wall repair?
I'm after some advice on the repair of the stone on the front face of
my house. Pictures can be viewed here of the actual damage http://www.photobox.co.uk/album/225782 pictures 5,6 and 7 are small file sizes. I believe that it is poll stone, local to the property in Swansea, South wales. What seems to have happened is the stone has either delaminated or cracked near to the double glazed window. When the windows were fitted they seemed to have been bonded with something which has gone very hard to the stone, so perhaps this is the cause. With one of the pieces removed (its the corner of the block that has cracked, about an inch deep), you can see behind the window as there is only a single skin of stone facing block surrounding the window. Would it be possible to bond the stone that has cracked and become loose, back into position (the crack is the full heightof the window) Would appreciate any advice Julian |
