Unless you are visiting a scrapyard outside the UK or the RoI, it's
probable that an expired passport will suffice.


shurely improbable? I can see lots of "computer says no" bother for
scrappies accepting old passports somehow.....
also means HM govt can get some more out of some pikies/scrotes
besides some car tax and fuel duty
