Makes the double glazing industry seem like saints. And the dedicated secondhand trade perhaps the worst of all. I was thinking more of a manufacturer's dealership. they are not necessarily any better It is a very long time since I bought a second hand car, but my experience then was that the manufacturer's dealership gave excellent service and a good guarantee. Of course, it may depend upon the manufacturer. I guess it depends on the age of the car. On cars older than 3 years you're unlikely to get a good warranty. And you are guaranteed to pay more in a dealership. I haven't bought a car for quite a long time but, when I did, I was shocked at the poor quality of the cars on all the forecourts. -- (\__/) M. Most dealers include an insurance type 'warranty' with reasonably recent secondhand cars. Hoping this will exempt them from the sale of goods acts. Unless this just means a good clean. And exactly the same applies to main dealers. -- *Real women don't have hot flashes, they have power surges. Have you looked at the small print of some of these warranties? Last time I checked they excluded anything actually likely to go wrong. I haven't bought a car for quite a long time but, when I did, I was shocked at the poor quality of the cars on all the forecourts. Forget the claims they are thoroughly checked before sale. Unless this just means a good clean. And exactly the same applies to main dealers. Exactly. Virtually all of the cars I inspected had significant faults which I spotted easily. Some dealerships didn't even bother to clean the cars. -- (\__/) M. (='.'=) Due to the amount of spam posted via googlegroups and (")_(") their inaction to the problem.
