Default DIN rail on a CU

I am just curious. Can the 100A switch be fitted at either end of the
rail? Or anywhere along the rail?

What if you are changing a consumer unit and the common earth and
neutral bars are on the bottom of the old unit with the wires from the
circuits coming in the bottom.

If the new CU has the bar on the top, can some be moved to the bottom,
as the wires would be too short?
